Lyndon State College is a public college located in Lyndoville, which is a village in the tonw of Lyndon, in Caledonia County, in the US state of Vermont, with little over 1200 people, living within its boundaries, as estimated during the 2000 census.
The college was established in 1911 and first started as a one-year normal school. After the State Legislature established the Vermont State Colleges system, in 1961, the school became Lyndon State College, and since then, has continuously grown.
Lyndon State offers its students a number of 28 undergraduate bachelor's programs, including associate degree programs, several Licensure Programs in Education and two certificate programs, its mission being to prepare `every student for personal and professional success through experience-based, high-quality programs in the liberal arts and professional studies`.
Lyndon State's athletic teams are known as the Hornets and they compete in NCAA Division III, and the North Atlantic Conference. Their distinctive colors are green and yellow.
